5 Elements Hatha Yoga
The universe came into being first through Space, then Wind was created, then Fire, then Water, and finally Earth. These 5 elements make up the world including the world inside of us! Therefore, if there is any imbalance in any of these elements, it would cause physical or psychological dis-ease. The 5 Elements Hatha Yoga sequence is meant to balance these 5 elements in the body as a form of disease- prevention. It also brings about great strength in all the major body parts and builds a new character for the practitioner. If a person was weak in a certain element to begin with, it was due to personality traits and ways of being, therefore to balance this element, the person can actually reshape their identity.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga brings great healing, growth, and spiritual awareness.
Kundalini is the spiritual energy of complete consciousness. This practice is safe and gentle, preparing the body for this powerful energy by strengthening the nervous system and energetic channels. Rhythmic movements, pranayama (breathing techniques), energy locks, & meditation/chanting are often used in these classes. You will feel the difference!
Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a gentle meditative form of yoga that works on the connective tissues of the body like the fascia, tendons, and ligaments through passive holds of poses for a longer time. 45% of our flexibility comes from the fascia and connective tissues, so practicing Yin yoga increases flexibility and induces deep relaxation and healing.
Each pose affects specific meridians- energy channels, which run through the major organs of the body, so is a kind of acupressure based on Chinese medicine. We store much of our emotions in our cells and tissues, and the deeper we go layer upon layer, we also release layer upon layer of stuck emotions.
Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga yoga is the most authentic representation of traditional yoga, which is still alive today. Through the physical practice of yogic postures woven together with the thread of vinyasa, we purify the body and mind. Besides cleansing, we strengthen the body and mind, to make them the perfect tools for our growth.
